Suma cum laude of Chicago’s Academy of Irish Music!

From performing in Norway, Merlefest, and The Kennedy Center…the Lovell Sisters Band are serious bluegrass musicians and vocalists.   It is no accident that Rebecca, 16, won the 2006 Merlefest International Mandolin Championship…the youngest and only woman ever to win.  That’s just the beginning.  Chicago Bluegrass Legends  Concerts is proud to present an alternative to the old legends of bluegrass - - -  young, hot, hot  bluegrass by The Lovell Sisters Band.

-------------------------

“The buzz on The Lovell Sisters is, catch 'em now so you can tell people you saw them "back when." It's easy to see why: the dazzling musicianship and heavenly harmonies put out by the three young siblings burst with so much potential it's dizzying. Their infectious fusion of folk, bluegrass, country, and contemporary acoustic music, plus their prodigious talent and great debut album, When Forever Rolls Around, has propelled the three into the spotlight everywhere including NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion National Talent Contest ‘05”—which they won handily.

Based in Calhoun, Georgia, the classically trained sisters have been singing and playing together since they were small. In their current two-year-old band, Jessica takes lead vocals and fiddle, Megan provides vocals and masterful dobro, and Rebecca adds her vocals and award-winning mandolin playing (in May 2006, Rebecca became the first female to win the MerleFest International Mandolin Competition). Add to this dynamite guitarist Jake Stargel and bassist Andy Nall, and you're in for quite a show! The group has toured in over 22 states and will perform in Europe fall 2007.”

"The Lovell Sisters play like pros, sing like angels, look like models, and are one good CMT video away from stardom. Their energy is awesome and nobody in the Americana world wants to follow them on stage. They're better than 99.9 percent of the bands on country radio today, and I don't expect their eventual success to spoil them.  A  truly  rare  thing."
